New Fujifilm Classic Negative Film Simulation Coming To X-T3 & X-T30

Fujifilm Classic Negative

Fujifilm recently announced that a new film simulation called Classic Negative, which is supposed to resemble Superia film, will be included on the upcoming X-Pro3. Well, according to Fujirumors, this new film simulation will be coming soon to the X-T3, X-T30 and GFX100 via a big firmware update. The X-Pro3 will also have in-camera curve adjustments and clarity, and it’s not clear if these will also come to the X-T3 and X-T30, but there is certainly a reasonable chance that it will. I’m hopeful that this firmware update, which might possibly be available before the end of the month, will be a “game-changer” of sorts, as these new features are sure to be great!

It’s interesting to me that the Velvia sim is meant to be Velvia 50. I think a few people have noticed that it’s not nearly as saturated as Velvia 50 and requires mods. It seems slightly strange that Fuji either calls this Fuji 50 when they modelled another Velvia, or failed to model actual Velvia 50 accurately.

To me, it reminds me more of Velvia 100F. If you pump up the saturation and such it can be made to look more like Velvia 50.
I’m not real surprised by Fuji calling it Velvia, as the Astia film simulation looks more like Provia film, and Astia film resembles more the Provia film simulation. It’s kind of strange, but I think it’s the result of the marketing department putting their hands a little too deeply into it.

I wonder what else the updates will give us poor XT30 users

I’m wonder what they’re gonna do about the X-H1 that had a large following base and owners even before this so cold bundle package. What about firmware updates.

I don’t know if there will be a firmware update or not, but the bundle was a bust. It was a pricing mistake, and all the orders were canceled.
