Wow I never knew the history of the paramount pictures logo. This company definitely climbed to the highest peaks of Hollywood so the logo is very fitting.

Watching movies since my childhood, but never asked/told myself: the internet could give me that answer… thank you (!) for the history and the pictures! Greetings from Switzerland, where we have a similar mountain, the “Matterhorn”.

And Ben Lomond peak is named after Beinn Laomainn (Ben Lomond) in Scotland.

Yes! I think they kind of sort of look similar. The one in Utah is much higher in elevation.

The current mountain that shows at the beginning of Paramount movies, (since about 1953), is a different mountain, said to be a stylized version of Artesonraju, in the Peruvian Andes.

Yeah, this was only the inspiration for the original logo. Thanks for the input!

Yes, you are correct. The current mountain is exactly the same as Artesonraju in Perú.

If you see Ben Lomond Peak from the east side (looking west) you’ll see the Paramount mountain. You can see it on the lifts at Snowbasin Ski Resort.
