The Fuji X Weekly — Film Recipes App is a mobile film simulation recipe library containing over 100 recipes for Fujifilm cameras! The film simulation recipes in the app are the same ones that you know and love from this website, but now take them with you on the go, and have them at your fingertips wherever you are!
The Fuji X Weekly app is free! No annoying ads. Get access to 100+ film simulation recipes, which can be sorted alphabetically or chronologically. Each recipe contains an assortment of sample images, as well as a list of compatible cameras. Within each recipe there’s a place where you can keep notes, a useful feature for many of you, no doubt. The app will work offline, so if you don’t have internet access but need to find a certain recipe, no problem! The Fuji X Weekly app is a handy tool for Fujifilm photographers, an essential app to accompany your X-series camera.
This app does have some advanced features that can be unlocked by becoming a Fuji X Weekly Patron! These advanced features include filtering by sensor or camera, as well as by film simulation or color/B&W, and the ability to favorite recipes for quick access. The best app experience is reserved for Patrons!
Fuji X Weekly Patrons also get early access to some new film simulation recipes. There are 9 brand-new film simulation recipes that only Patrons can view. These recipes will eventually be published on Fuji X Weekly—free to everyone—but right now they’re available only to Patrons. As new early-access recipes are cycled into the app for Patrons, the others will be made available on this website and on the app free to all, so no worries.
By becoming a Fuji X Weekly Patron, which is only $19.99 annually, you unlock the app’s full potential, you get early access to some new film simulation recipes, and you help support Fuji X Weekly! It’s a win-win!
The Fuji X Weekly app is now available in the Google App Store. Download it to your mobile Android device today!
The Fuji X Weekly — Film Recipes App is now compatible with Android 9 (a.k.a. Android Pie)!
Finally, the expected moment has come, thank you very much for that. We are grateful for all the contributions you have made to the Fuji family. But unfortunately your device is not compatible with this version it says 🙁 My device android 9 was surprised and sorry for this.
Sorry for my mediocre english. I hope it’s understood 🙂
It does require Android 10 or newer. Sorry that it is not compatible with older operating systems.
It is understood. Would it be compatible with 9 later? Many people in Facebook groups are upset about this situation.
Yes, after Google approves the update (maybe Friday or Monday, I’m guessing), then it will be Android 9 compatible.
Android 10 or newer.
Thank you so much for all your hard work and creativity.
You are welcome!
Tanto tiempo de espera y mi smartphone con Android 9 no es compatible….
Sinceramente me siento defraudado.
Siento oír eso. La mayoría de las personas tienen sistemas operativos más nuevos, y hacerlo compatible con las versiones anteriores habría aumentado significativamente la carga de trabajo de programación. Tal vez funcione para ti algún día. ¡Cuídate!
It was a roller coaster of emotions. A friend sent me the news. I rushed to to the Play Store. My device is not supported.
I am excited for the people that it does work for!
There might be some hope if you have Android 9. There’s the possibility of making it compatible, but some tests have to be done to make sure it will work.
My cellphone will be stuck in Android 9 but seeing how disposable are cellphones I know soon will have a modern one. I am quite grateful for your work to have it in a platform that is complicated due to devices with so many different hardware!
I appreciate it! There might be hope for Android 9, there’s apparently the possibility of making it compatible, but some testing will have to be done to make sure it works and doesn’t mess everything else up.
Hi Ritchie, I subscribed to be a patron over at the apple app. Possible to use the same subscription using the android app?
Unfortunately it’s not. The Android and Apple systems are completely separate. Sorry!
Hi Ritchie! Looking forward to trying the app but, try as I may, it doesn’t appear on my Google Play (in Australia). OS definitely up to date, though…
You have to follow the link. It won’t show up as searchable in the Play Store for a few days for some reason.
Got it. Perfect. Thanks again.
Noticed that some recipes differ somewhat from what’s on the website (the optional toning from T-Max 400, for instance); it can be a bit confusing to navigate different simulations with the same name too. And it’d be cool to get the blurb/explanation of each recipe within the app.
But other than that, such a cool thing and happy to support it by becoming a Patron straight away!
The reason why there’s several recipes with the same name is because they’re for different camera models. There’s also a link to my website for each recipe where you’ll find more explanations and more sample pictures. I appreciate the feedback and support! Thank you!
And I have a tablet on Android 7.1.1 … 🙁
It needs to be at least Android 10, but hopefully by next week at the latest it will be Android 9 compatible. Unfortunately Android 7 isn’t and won’t be compatible. Can your tablet update to Android 9?
It’s not compatable with my phone (Oppo a5) 🙁
I believe you can update to Android 10, and then you can get the app. Otherwise, wait one week and the app will be compatible with Android 9.
Play tells me my phone is not compatible with the app. I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 with Android v9. Any suggestions? Thanks
I believe that the Galaxy S8 is capable of updating to Android 10. If you update the software, you should be able to download the app. Otherwise, wait one week and the app will be compatible with Android 9 and should work on your phone.
Great news about the app, but I’m receiving the message that it’s not compatible with my mobile (Samsung S8). Is there a list of compatible devices?
Best regards, Jack Snepvangers

The Galaxy S8 should be compatible after updating the operating software to Android 10. Otherwise, if you wait one week, the app will be compatible with Android 9.
I have the Galaxy S8+, is amazing there are others with that excellent cellphone. Nevertheless when I got it I investigated and the S8 and S8+ will not have Android 10 as Samsung software upgrades are limited to two after the original Android (in this case it started with Android 7). It has to be quite expensive for Samsung to update cellphones with all their catalogue so I understand it, also you being one individual I perfectly understand it too. Then again thanks for your work, is already monumental : )
The update that will allow it to work on Android 9 has been built, tested and submitted to Google, just waiting on Google to give it the go-ahead, but they’re slow, unfortunately.
Wow, I’m installing new apps frequently and this is first time ever I’ve run into one that won’t run on Android 9. Quite a surprise for this type of app!
It requires Android 10, but an update that should be coming either late this week or early next (it’s waiting Google’s approval) will allow it to work on Android 9.
Excellent work as usual Ritchie! Really grateful here. You rock!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate the encouragement!
Finally, thank you Ritchie for all your work! Downloaded the app and became a patron right away 🙂
Thank you so much! I appreciate your support!
Hi and great news
New Samsung phone since 2 hours only and Fujixweekly app installed. 🙂
Awesome! I appreciate the comment!
