The Fuji X Weekly app is a mobile film simulation recipe library containing over 100 recipes for Fujifilm cameras! The film simulation recipes in the app are the same ones that you know and love from this website, but now take them with you on the go, and have them at your fingertips wherever you are!
The Fuji X Weekly app is free! No annoying ads. Get access to 100+ film simulation recipes, which can be sorted alphabetically or chronologically. Each recipe contains an assortment of sample images, as well as a list of compatible cameras. Within each recipe there’s a place where you can keep notes, a useful feature for many of you, no doubt. The app will work offline, so if you don’t have internet access but need to find a certain recipe, no problem! The Fuji X Weekly app is a handy tool for Fujifilm photographers, an essential app to accompany your X-series camera. This is my Christmas gift to you!

This app does have some advanced features that can be unlocked by becoming a Fuji X Weekly Patron! These advanced features include filtering by sensor or camera, as well as by film simulation or color/B&W, and the ability to favorite recipes for quick access. The best app experience is reserved for Patrons!
Fuji X Weekly Patrons also get early access to some new film simulation recipes. There are 7 brand-new film simulation recipes that only Patrons can view. These recipes will eventually be published on Fuji X Weekly—free to everyone—but right now they’re available only to Patrons. As new early-access recipes are cycled into the app for Patrons, the others will be made available on this website and on the app free to all, so no worries.

By becoming a Fuji X Weekly Patron, which is only $19.99 annually, you unlock the app’s full potential, you get early access to some new film simulation recipes, and you help support Fuji X Weekly! It’s a win-win!
So much time (and money) has gone into creating this app. I believe that it will be useful to many of you, and I also believe it can grow into so much more. I can’t do it without your support. I appreciate everyone who has helped in one way or another already. I appreciate everyone who becomes a Patron! The Fuji X Weekly audience (that’s you!) truly is the best!

The Fuji X Weekly app will be available in the iOS App Store on December 1st. Download it to your iPhone or iPad! If you have a Mac with an M1 chip, you’ll be able to download the app, too, which might be useful for those who use X RAW Studio (it should be available for all Mac computers in a future update). I hope that an Android version will come along sometime next year, but right now it’s only available for Apple (if you don’t have an iPhone and don’t want to miss out on the app, you can probably find a good deal on an iPad this holiday season). I know that you’ll love the Fuji X Weekly app, and I’m super excited for its release!
I want to give a shout-out to Sahand Nayebaziz, the app developer (and Fujifilm photographer) who turned this idea into a reality. Thank you for all your hard work, and for lending your skills to this project!
Look for the Fuji X Weekly app in the iOS App Store on 12/01/2020!
It’s very exciting to see a dedicated app with awesome collection of Fuji X Weekly film simulations! : )
Great contribution done to whole Fuji X community, thank you so much!!!

Looking forward to the Android version.
This reminds me that I want to learn Flutter so that I can build Android and iOS simultaneously 🙂

For now, I suppose. It’s a small miracle that there’s an app at all. It takes a lot to make one, both time and money. It’s really been a process, and a long road, to get it where it is. But I keep pressing forward, hoping to be helpful to other photographers.

Here’s an idea, since you’re so unhappy why don’t you take the time, effort and money and create an Android app? That way you could keep busy and not complain about someone who generously took the time out of his life to create something for others to enjoy. Seriously, Ritchie has said over and over he is working on getting an app for Android as soon as he is able to do so. We get it, your unhappy.

Great to hear and i´m glad to see this app! Thank you so much…
by the way: i find it a litte bit bad that you can only pay annualy. i hate Subs…a unique pay would be better, only my opinion.
Thank you!
Best Regards

You know, I went back-and-forth on it. I’m not certain that the price or annual renewal is best. I hope that I did the right thing. I hope that the advancements that are coming down the road will make it worth it. I’m new to all this, so I can only do what I hope is best, and cross my fingers. I appreciate the comment!

Hey Ritchie!
This looks pretty awesome! Just to clarify, this is a recipe book and not something that enables actually applying recipes to photos on the iPhone, correct?
Thanks, Brian

Great job! Really useful tool to have for every Fujifilm user! Fujifilm itself should learn a lesson on how to give additional favor to the wonderful film simulation.
Looking fwd for android version. Right now I just keep playing with some favorite recipes.

A pity the Android version has been relegated to next year. Nearly all photographers I know use Android, not Apple.

It is, but it takes soooo much time and money to get an app off the ground. It’s a small miracle that there’s an app at all. I’m just trying to be helpful, but I’m working with extremely limited resources. I can only do so much.

Hello Mr Roesch,
I have been a long time fan of your site and especially the wonderful recipes you so kindly have published. This new App is a major thing and I’m really excited! I’ll gladly become a Patron, it’s the least I can do.
Can I please ask you to ask from Sahand Nayebaziz what he thinks about the Sailfish OS?
https://jolla.com/#SailfishOS https://sailfishos.org/ https://sailfishos.org/wiki/Application_Development
The reason behind it is this: Sailfish OS is a small but different OS for mobile phones. It’s not spying on you like the Android and iPhone does. It’s in fact the only viable alternative OS left on the market, many have fallen, like Firefox OS and so on.
No, I’m not asking that you would start to use your valuable time and energy to make a third version of the FujiXweekly App for Sailfish. That would be too much to even ask. Actually Sailfish can run Android apps and most of them work flawlessly on Sailfish. Sailfish UI and user experience is built on swipes and therefore apps run handier as native apps.
I’m thinking of using the code for Android to build a native version to Sailfish. But that’s of course you’ll need to evaluate can it be obtained for such a thing or not. I’m unfortunately not a programmer. I’m just another Sailfish user. But I could find somebody within the Sailfish OS community who is a developer – who would also be a Fuji shooter and interested in building a native version.
I know…maybe this was a bit big question… but another thing I can do for you – is to translate the App to Finnish and Swedish, if you’ll let me.
Best regards from Finland

Thank you Ritchie ! This is such a nice and wonderful idea. Now I think Fuji should really take some good note (if they haen’t yet) of the great work that you do here. So imagine next step with some kind of collaboration with you, just imagine if the app could communicate with our cameras and apply the recipes via bluetooth 🙂

I would love that! My wife asked me, “So what’s next?” And this is something we discussed. Of course, the hard part is getting Fujifilm on board, but hopefully a collaboration can happen someday.

Hi Ritchie, this is pretty exciting news 🙂
I’m lucky enough to have both iOS and Android devices at hand, since I’m working as a product manager for mobile apps. Can’t wait for Dec, 1st 🙂 Your app might be the killer for my photo trips!
And yeah, having it on Android too would be great for me and probably many others. Maybe I can help with something there. I’d love to. Don’t hesitate to get in touch.
